College Fee Payment Portal
Centralised fee portal for a college, built as a mini project: students sign in to see their fee status (deadline, payment, fines and scholarship), check their payment history and download a PDF receipt once the fee is paid.
Overview
One place for students to keep track of their college fees. After signing in, a student sees the fee deadline, whether the fee has been paid, any fine imposed and any scholarship applied. The payment-history page unlocks a receipt once the fee is marked as paid, and the receipt downloads as a PDF.
Built as a college mini project: server-rendered Handlebars pages on Node.js and Express, backed by a MySQL database.

Challenges & Solutions
- Producing a fee receipt students can download.Unlocked the receipt only when the student's fee record reads paid, filled it with their details and exported it to PDF in the browser with html2pdf.js.
- Keeping login and fee lookups safe from SQL injection.Passed user input to MySQL only through parameterised placeholders in the login and fee queries, never by string concatenation.
